Carolina Hinojosa-Cisneros is a Tejana poet, freelance writer, and aspiring author. She is mamma to three children - 17 year old Faith, 12 year old Ryan, and 1 year old Brooklyn - and is married to the love of her life. Her work focuses on Latinidad and Christianity. When she is not learning a new hobby or delving deeper into her ancestry, she can be found volunteering at her church cafe, reading, and attending to her home. Her poetry has been published in numerous journals. Her essays have been published at On Being and other outlets. She is a regular contributor at The Mudroom. You can find her on Twitter @CisnerosCafe or on Facebook at Carolina Hinojosa-Cisneros, Writer.

Carolina tells us about becoming a believer later in life after having a baby at 19 and one at 25 with two different men. She now is married and has a 1-year-old and is seeking to support her first two children well and coparent with their fathers. She talks about what a blessing it is to have so many people who love her children, as it does truly take a village.

Whether you have a blended family or just want to be able to have better conversations with your kids about families that are different than your own, this is for you.
